12th-century church, originally a single nave with a 3-sided apse. The church was fortified during the 100 Years? War, and equipped with a genuine defense system. It was raised by around 5 m, and an inner ring road allowed watchmen to move around quickly. A large tower was added to the west side of the church. The north aisle was built in the 15th century. In 1865, lightning struck the bell tower, and the town council voted to demolish it in 1868. Recent work inside the church has uncovered late 12th-century frescoes marking the presence of the Knights Templar, large crosses with trees of life in shades of red. This highly symbolic decoration confirms the major role played by the Knights Templar in the Landes region.
